Anyone ever seen for sale push-pull pots with built in LEDs that light up to show the switch position? Anybody have any ideas how to make some? Ideally, I would like the LEDs to be or appear to be) inside the pot knobs. I gues I don't see how I can wire an LED to the pot knob without it getting all twisted up and affecting the knob rotation.
Any ideas?

Hi customnewb, welcome to GN2.
How about getting a fairly large knob made of substantially clear material, such as some Gibson knobs (eg speed knob). Then set you LED to shine up through a hole in the top surface of the guitar or pickguard, just covered by the knob. Then the knob might appear to glow when the LED lights up.

1) So the fact that its either pushed or pulled isn't indication enough?
B) What are you switching with this thing? Most P/Ps are DPDT and unless you're doing some fancy electronic switching you will probably need at least one of the Ps to switch the LED.
Plus you need a power source. Unless you've got some other reason to put a battery in your guitar, it seems like more work than its worth. You probably wouldn't need a whole 9V in there just for the light, though. A AA or watch battery or something would probably work.

Welcome to the Forum! If you are only splitting down a humbucker into two single coils and selecting one of them (just like on my Yammy Pacifica 904, you would have a spare bank on the dpdt that you could use for this application, but I have to agree- why would you bother? This seems rather like focusing your mind on creating a problem rather than solving one. For myself, this would be a waste of the potential that the second pole has.
