Finally started serious work on my first electric build. Made a drawing then made this template for a router. The only minor complaint I have with myself is one of the curves doesn't look exactly right... It doesn't quite seem to flow correctly...

Hi trwolfe101 and welcome to GN2.
When i saw the photo I was worried that you were showing us your new particle board guitar body, and we'd have to think of something to say about that!
But its a template, so all cool.
Ive never built one from scratch, so kudos for doing it. On proportions my thought is, it looks like its not an ovettly 'offset' design, so apart from around the neck and cuttaway, it is probably aiming at bring symetrical about the centreline. If in doubt, make a paper tracing and flip it over to see if it lines up. The photo has some perspective skewing, so not sure if the upper part in the pic is bigger than it might be.

Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!
Your inquiry really belongs in the "Lutherie and repair" section, so I moved it. No worries, we give a free pass to new users on this sort of thing, but we try to keep some semblance of order. Your inquiry is more likely to garner attention when it's in the right place.

Got the templates curves set correctly this morning. The build itself won't be entirely from scratch, might buy a telecaster neck from stewmac or something. As far as pickups go, I haven't completely decided on what I want other than humbucker style. A friend of mine has some pickups for me to look at tonight which came from a Les Paul. The lower part is bigger than the upper, the pic does have skewing going on.
