Folks,
Working on an electric with a Trem-King Vibrato. I've set up two others just like it with no issues. Intonation is good on the others and notes sound correct at all positions. However, on this guitar, I can set the intonation to what sounds correct and looks correct on a tuner on all strings, except the G string is giving me fits.
All the notes played on all the strings are good, except the G string. On the G string, all notes are good from the 12th fret down to the 5th (C) are ok. If I play it at the 4th fret (B), it sounds a bit sharp. At the 3rd fret, it's close to B flat, but sharper still. The 2nd fret (A) is close to an A tone but still sharp, more so than the B flat was sharp. The 1st fret (A flat) is really sharp.
The nut looks low enough, so there is no deflection (bending) of the string to make the string go sharp when that string is played . It doesn't affect the other strings at all. Just the G string.
There is a slight bow to the neck, but it looks about the same as the other two guitars I worked on with no issues.
I'm sort of at a loss to what to try next. new String? New nut?
Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.
