Hi,
I have wired a set of ‘57/’62 pickups into my Strat project. It’s the first time I’ve soldered/wired and the first time I’ve played ‘57/’62’s, so I have a few questions. I set up my Strat to Fender’s specifications (for now) and this is what I hear:
no hum in positions 2 and 4 (as expected)
hum in positions 1 and 3 (can be rolled off by reducing tone)
lots of hum in position 5 ( no control)
I know this is how these pups are supposed to sound, but it think i have too much hum.
Also, when i touch the strings the hum increases. I have check the ground wire and all is good. Is it a shielding porblem?
Are there any tips?
Any help is appreciated, Thnaks.
Cez
