I have a project i am doing, It's a 1980 Jackson Soloist body with a 1974 Strat neck. No issues with that part, I just have a question with the wiring. The set up is as follows....Hot Rail at the neck (4wire), Hot Rail in the Mid (4Wire) and a Motherbucker at the bridge (4Wire)....I also wired in a ON-ON coil tap for the neck Hot Rail, a ON-ON for the Motherbucker, It has a 250k pot for the volume, a 500k pot for the first tone, a 500k Pot for the second tone, and a 5 position switch. Yes I want to use all of this as a experiment. I have orange drops going on the tone pots. The Hot Rails have a Green, Red, Black, White with open ground wire. The Motherbucker has a Blue, Red, White, Black and open ground. The coil taps are switches with 3 spots to solder to. They are Jack White taps. The other pots are CTS. the switch has 8 solder points in a row, it is also CTS. (CTS Made in Japan). As standard the 1/4" Jack is on the edge of the body for a Jackson. As for the taps, on the neck i want to tap the coil closest to the neck, and the bridge, closest to the bridge.
Any suggestions on wiring, I am experienced with this but as with anything there are so many ways to go about this. Any suggestions, with a diagram, color coding as what you would do ? I can include pictures if needed. Any more info can be included as well.
Thank you in advance for suggestions.

(N.B.- this is Dark's thread, but I had to move it. Once I do so, the PB software shows the thread as being originated by me, even though Dark's posting is the first one) Dark- Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!First off, we're going to need more information. You didn't say what was being selected by the 5-way toggle lever switch. Also, I assume the "Hot Rails" are actual Seymour Duncan versions? If so, it's easy enough to sort out the wire colors. I assume this is an actual Ken Armstrong "Motherbucker". There are some clones out there which may vary as to wire colors. If you're not sure of the source, some testing may be needed. Also, since a Motherbucker is two dual-rail coils put together, it ought to have 2 pairs of 4 wires (i.e., 8 wires in total, not counting the bare shield/ground wires). This raises a question as to what you intend with the bridge "coil cut" switch- are you intending to cut to just a single rail, or two of the four? The correlation of wire colors is as follows: SD | Green | Red | White | Black | KA | Red | Blue | White | Green |
Again, we're back to what the 5-way is going to do. If only the neck and bridge HBs are to be split (and see above for what is meant in splitting the bridge pup, since it has 4 coils), and if the 5-way is not going to offer a N + B selection (hard to do with the switch you have anyway), then we don't need to worry about hum cancellation when in the split-coil mode. If N + B is part of the plan, then hum-cancelling becomes desirable. Since you have different brands of pickups, the polarity of the magnets would need to be checked to ensure that the outermost coils of each were the right ones to cancel the hum when in split coil mode. But again, we need more info first.
