Newest Build in the works, American Cherry capped Mahogany..I will try to get some pics up soon. I will be mounting the controls through the top. I want to have three knobs. Volume, Tone, and a selector. I am assuming, the selector will be some type of on/on/on switch, in a pot body. What is this type of selector switch called? Thanks Fellas

So you want a rotary switch in place of the standard tele lever switch? You want it to do the same thing as the standard - B, B+N, N? That's a DP3T rotary, though if you went to DP4T you could do Baja switching and get the series B*N sound as well. I use Alpha brand that I get from Mouser ( like this), though I don't see any DP3T, the one I linked is 4P3T, which would leave a couple of unused poles. I won't tell anybody if you don't. If you want the Baja version, they have a 3P4T which is only "wasting" one pole. They don't always come with splined shafts, so you'd have to account for that when you order your knobs. You can sometimes ream out a knob meant for splined shafts, but not always...

Cool. Glad to help. Course, if you wanted to do something with those spare lugs, I'm sure we could come up with some stuff. Would be almost trivial to have different tone cap values for each position. Maybe make the B position be like a "blower switch"... Some other things...
