Hey everybody. I'm new here but I came across this board because I was looking for wiring diagrams for a 2 pole 5 way rotary switch for my RGD421 (HH layout with 1 volume and 1 tone pot, 4 wire pickups). It's difficult finding them and the closest thing I have found is a 3 year old post on this board, but it is with an HSH layout. So I was wondering if anyone on here could help me figure out how to wire up my guitar in a traditional Ibanez RG 5-way blade switch fashion. I'm trying to go for a setup like this. This is the old image I found on this board in this thread: guitarnuts2.proboards.com/thread/6438/position-pole-rotary-switch-helpAny help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!
You've dug up an old diagram I did, but other than showing you what a 2P6T rotary switch looks like, is isn't going to be much help. Your scheme has the need for the neck HB in parallel in addition to the coil split, and without the meiddle pickup, so we'll need to start with a clean sheet of paper.
I won't be able to do a diagram for you today, in fact it may be a few days before I can get to it.

Just kidding! That's perfectly fine. I've (very slowly) been working on this for months anyway. I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around it so any help is majorly appreciated. imgur.com/a/bBq6z This is what I'm working with as far as cavity space goes. r.ebay.com/Ld7m3c This is what I bought (if it helps). EDIT: I forgot this guitar uses only a volume pot, no tone pot. SOOOOO sorry for not realizing that when I made my original post. This is the only Ibanez I have that lacks a tone pot. Thank you for your response either way. I hope you can help me make this work. If not like the diagram that I previously posted, then in some other fashion would still help me out.

Hey bud, was there any chance that you have figured out how I could wire this up?

Sorry I hadn't got back to this. I just spent a few minutes looking at this, and I don't see how this can be done with just a 2-pole rotary, I think you'd need at least 3 poles.
Ibanez uses a specialized switch to get the neck pickup in parallel at position 4 (or #2, depending on your numbering). With the rotary, we'd need one pole for the coil splitting, one for the standard HB operations, and a third pole to wire the neck in parallel.
At least that's the way I see it, maybe someone else has a brilliant idea for this.
