Hello, folks! I have a vintage Kent guitar with two single coils, 1v, 1t, and a rotary switch. What I want to do is wiring it for north, south, both, and in series. I'm assuming I need a 2 pole, four position rotary switch. Where can I find a suitable switch and how would I wire this. The single coils are plastic coated (unlike a Tele). I would appreciate your suggestions. Thanks!

Thanks for stopping by. The schematic you need is here. The cheapest decent switch you can get for this is here. It's got an extra pole, but we won't tell anybody. I don't think they make a 2P4T in that style.

tualaoch- Hello and Welcome to G-Nutz2!Ashcatlt has you on the right track, I was going to point you towards the same diagram but he beat me to it. The wiring is really for a Baja Tele 4-way lever switch, but represented schematically, the two types of switches are identical. In the real, non-schematic world, you'll need to correlate your switch lugs to the diagram, but that's easy enough. As for the switch, ash is right again, buy the 3-pole one. Digi-Key stocks this 2-pole one, from C&K Components: www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/A20403RNZQ/CKN10206-ND/514449But this one is more money than the Alpha and will require a 1/4" flatted knob (i.e., with a "D"-shaped shaft). It will be hard to find that type of knob to match the others on the guitar. Ash's suggested one takes a regular round shaft knob (with a set screw), these are more readily available If you want all your knobs to match up "real purty", your best bet is not to try to match the V and T knobs to the rotary knob, but to find a correct knob for the rotary and then buy replacement V and T knobs to match it.
