Position 4 on HSS Strat is shrill - phase issue?

I recently changed out all my PUPs on my Strat to (2) DiMarzio DP110 FS-1's and a Bill Lawrence L500L.  Positions 1,3,4,5 sound terrific.  Position 2 (mid+bridge) is unusable; it's way over-the-top bright and thin, but doesn't seem to drop in volume so I wouldn't characterize it as weak.

As far as I can tell, the FS-1's are not RWRP and I can't find any info on the L500L.

Is there a solution?  Reverse wiring for the humbucker?  Thanks for your time.

On any guitar I own where the controls are mounted on the pickguard which goes under the strings so you can't get at them and play at the same time, I cut the control section free the first time I open it up. I usually try to line up the cut across two screw holes so I don't need new holes.

Anyway....

This will tell you for sure which way each pickup is pushing. One would butt u me that the two from the same manufacturer would be same polarity, so you'll probably just have to swap the other one around.

I think you already found the answer. In position 2 you probably have the full humbucker in parallel with the mid pup but out of phase. That would explain the thin sound while still having a good volume. In that case, yes, reverse wiring of the HB.
