Hello to everyone in the forum, I would like to receive some help with regards to my setup as I am trying to achieve the configuration of the attachment which deals with Seymour Duncan P-Rails. This functions under the condition that both pickups have to be in the same mode (when neck is in parallel, bridge must be too etc.). That’s fine with me. In my case, I am using a mahogany Fender Stratosonic with 2 DiMarzio DLX Plus (Neck & Bridge model). These are like mini-HBs, with 4-wire etc. Now, DiMarzio pickups are North/South – North/South, so I really enjoy selectting Outer Coils / Inner Coils in Parallel not only for the sould but it is still hum-cancelling. I am interested in this as I would like to have also the Parallel configuration of each humbucker, which is a sound I don’t have and it sounds excellent (I have tried tried it in the past). In the attached file, the Seymour Duncan diagram deals with the P-Rails pickups which are North/South – North/South (most SD HBs are South/North – North/South). Can you tell if this will work in my case just by changing Duncan’s colors to the DiMarzio ones or is there something else that I cannot tell (by my little experience)? My thinking is that by only changing to DiMarzio colors will not work as expected. I mean that it will not select Outer Coils rather than the left one of both pickups and also will not select Inner Coils rather the right on of each pickup. Of course, this will not be hum-cancelling and that is something I don't want. I suspect that on one pickup (neck), I should leave the hot out & ground connections as they are, but reverse the Red & Black wires and also reverse the Green & White wires (of course translated into DiMarzio color code). However, I am not very sure. So, before I take it a tech to make the connections, could somebody please help? Thank you in advance Attachments:

Hello paigiot and welcome to GuitarNutz. Hum-cancelingAs you're probably aware, you can't get hum-canceling when only one coil is selected. But in the case where one coil each from two separate pickups are combine, hum-cancelling is possible. To achieve hum-canceling, you need one North coil and one South coil. Again, you seem to already be aware of this. DiMarzio pickups are North/South – North/SouthI'm not 100% certain this is true in all cases. But that will be very easy for you to verify for your DLX Plus pickups. 1 - Place one of the pickups on a table in front of you. 2 - Imagine the table is the body of the guitar and you are looking from the bridge at the top of the guitar. 3 - Orient the pickup so the cable that exits the pickup points to the right, as if it's headed toward the control cavity. 4 - Use a magnetic compass (or bar magnet) to determine which end is attracted to the pickup poles closest to you. Repeat the procedure for the other pickup. If the same end of the compass needle or bar magnet is attracted to the poles closest to you, the N/S layout will indeed be what you expected and you will have one North and one South when the Inners are selected. One South and One North when the outers are selected. Exactly what you want for hum-canceling. If not, STOP HERE. We'll need further discussion to determine how you should proceed. Translation of Color CodesSeymour DuncanNorth + = Black North - = White South + = Red South - = Green DiMarzioNorth + = Red North - = Black South + = White South - = Green Since we want one of the pickups to use the North coil while the other is using the South coil, we need separate translations for each pickup. In each of the following translations, the original (SD) color from the drawing is on the left and the new (DiMarzio) color that you'll use to replace it is on the right. Translation for one pickup.SD color / DiMarzio color Black / Red White / Black Red / White Green / Green Translation for the other pickup.SD color / DiMarzio color Black / White White / Green Red / Red Green / Black

Thank you very much reTrEaD for taking the time to come up with such a detailed answer. First of all, the DLX Plus pickups are indeed North/South - North/South. As I can see, that color translation you did: Translation for one pickup. SD color / DiMarzio color Black / Red White / Black Red / White Green / Green
Translation for the other pickup SD color / DiMarzio color Black / White White / Green Red / Red Green / Black
Goes along with what I mention above: I suspect that on one pickup (neck), I should leave the hot out & ground connections as they are, but reverse the Red & Black wires and also reverse the Green & White wires (of course translated into DiMarzio color code).
With the 3-way switch, the diagram yields 12 sounds in total if I count correct. Hopefully, I will have a tech make the connections and report back. Once again, thank you very much!

I would like to write my update as I had my tech make the connections.
The result is indeed 12 different sounds and the diagram works like a charm (of course with colors translated into DiMarzio ones, the way reTrEaD suggested).
With the exception of the Out-of-phase sounds (which I don't favor at all), the guitar has now every possible sound or combination one could ask.
I would consider this as a serious upgrade to the instrument itself, emphasizing the fact that there are no drills to it for switches (2 push/pull volume-tone are working behind the curtain).
The parallel humbuckers (Neck-Both-Bridge) is a wonderful sound; one of the highlights actually.
Another highlight is the Inside / Outside Coils (a sound which I already had).
Lastly, as far as single coils are concerned, Neck North/Neck South/Bridge North are my favorite and distinct from each other.
Once again, I thank you so much for helping out!
