Unk, Or anyone who would like to comment... Is this how I should go about splitting my bridge humbucker so it is like having a single coil in the bridge position? I would use a push/pull pot with built in DPDT switch. Wiring diagram and additional info: community.webshots.com/photo/546676047/2400853470052707261eplTjBThanks

i don't understand why they would go to the extra effort of intentionally shunting the unused coil.
i'm not that familiar with that diagram, so i'm not certain how the stock circuit works.

hi ablair, i can see the frustration level is high on this one. (the change in tread subject & the use of all capitals) that's mostly my fault. i never did get back to this one. i was dealing with a lot of other issues and neglected to follow-up on this one. not such a nice thing to do to a new member. i've sent a P.M. to you my opinion of the fender stock circuit, and suggesting some other possibilities. but, if you're sure this is the the coil you want to cut, here's how i'd recommend doing it: since you're planning to do this on an american fender, a push-pull is probably a better choice for a switch (no new holes). you might consider doing a neck-on switch too. good luck, and tell us how things go. unk
