Hey, after the hope I got for the floyd FLEOR trem, (btw they refunded me almost the whole amount for the trem), I said.. what the heck, why don;t I try to fix the pup?? I tried to scratched the leads a little bit to see if i could get some conductivity. Till I found out that the left wire did not have contact to the soldering with its braided wire. So I scratched the area and tried to solder it. Soldering didn't go easy but after some application, I saw conductivity, and a nice 6Kohm between the two leads!!
Seems the FLEOR set will be back in business for an installation soon.

Hello I installed them. Not bad. In fact I like some aspects of them more than the stock (Aria) ceramic pups. : - No more noisy than the stock pups - More crispy - Better tone in the neck pickup - 2,4 are hum cancelling Now, regarding the bridge position, I like the original ceramic a little more. Also one of the negatives is that the guitar buzzed a lot more on low E. Sometimes, and despite the fact that I applied glue to the saddle height screws/threads, they change a little bit, and this causes a change in height. Not the case here. The guitar didn't buzz on low E with SHORTER action in the previous setup. So? I scratched my head and the only possible explanation is the old saying.... "buzz is not a problem as long as it is not sensed / reproduced by the amp". Something in the highs/upper mids (is this where buzz is shows up?) changed and therefore the change in buzz. (Or the strings freaked out, I gotta check this as well)
Regarding original rainbow/malmsteen/alcatraz tone, I think those new alnico pups make it sound better than the ceramics. Their spacing is narrowed so I need to put this super-vee bladerunner bridge back in place.
As I was doing all the new tests, I tried to test also the dummy coil idea, wired in a more sane way. Not just before the jack, but between the switch and the vol pot. Behavior was also more sane (vol pot worked), but the reduction in buzz was either minimal or worse. Maybe due to the fact that the ceramic was ~ 6.4 KOhm while the bridge alnico about 6.0Kohm.
That's it for now, I gotta do also some clips!

I kinda regret wasting the bridge ceramic I got for the sake of experimenting with it as a dummy coil. I might order this again.

Hey after all those days, you won't believe that, I MAINLY play this guitar (with 10s mind you) versus the : - Kramer 210 shredstick - Ibanez UV70p 7-string - Ibanez ARZ800 single cut ! I am the type of guy that would already be lurking for some other (maybe noiseless) offerings if I had doubts about this set. Besides sounding good, they are low noise as well!!! With vintage type distortion there is no need for any noise gate at all. I think those pups are good!

Did they have "HMV" printed anywhere on them?
