Hello, Could somebody please give me a hand if they can? See attached diagrams (DiMarzio). I'd like to blend those functions into one diagram (if you could draw one or simply point all the necessary actions). Reason: I can only work like that, as I have no electronics knowledge. What I have is: * Both switches * Both push-pulls I do not know which wire should go where. Many thanks! gif image host

I do not know what you mean by "blend the functions into one diagram".
The first diagram has a phase switch on the neck pickup, and each HB has a coil cut switch, allowing each HB to be in single-coil mode individually.
The second diagram has a phase switch on the neck pickup, and has only a single switch to cut both HBs to single-coil operation together.
If you want to be able to cut each HB individually, you can use the first diagram "as is".
If you want to cut both HBs together to single coil, you can eliminate one switch and use the second diagram "as is".
Otherwise, the two diagrams are identical.

No, that was my mistake. I just edited it. And I believe the proper terminology for what I'm asking is a congruency of those 2 diagrams' functionalities, not a blending (actually I should've better name it mixing, but that word didn't pop up in my mind). So what I need put together in the end is: * 3-way blade * The 2 push-pulls * The 2 switches with their dual sound functionalities. And I also don't understand what the DiMarzio designer meant when he wrote at the top the page about using DPDTs with 3 positions (on-on-on). I mean I bought both types. What will I acquire if I use on-on? What will I acquire if I use on-on-on? Thanks again!

No, the mistake was mine, I didn't look closely enough at the first diagram. OK, so the first diagram has series/parallel for each HB, not coil cuts. And no phase switch. I plead brain fatigue, it was 1 a.m. when I posted that!
An On-On DPDT switch gets you series/parallel for each HB's coils
If you use a DPDT On-On-On switch, you will get parallel/single coil/series. Plus, notice that the neck pup's wire colors, at the switch, are reversed from the way the bridge is wired. This is done so that, when you have both pickups in single coil mode, the center position is hum-cancelling. In single coil mode, the neck switch selects the white/black coil and the bridge selects the green/red coil. Selecting opposite coils thus makes the two split coils into one "big HB", so to speak, with its coils spaced widely apart.
The second diagram has a phase switch. This can easily be added to the first diagram. It can be wired to either the neck pickup or the bridge, doesn't matter, the sound will be the same. It gets "inserted" into the diagram right after the pickup and before the DPDT series/parallel switch for that pickup.
If you are just learning guitar wiring, learning by doing is more valuable than simply being told what to do. Rather than wait for one of us to draw you a diagram (which may be a while), I'd suggest trying your hand at it, and we'll correct any mistakes you make.
Simply start with the Dimarzio diagram, and add the phase switch, just as it is shown in the other diagram, to one of the two pickups, in between that pickup and that pickup's series/parallel switch. Wires from the pickup go into the phase switch, output from the switch then goes onto the series/parallel switch.
Since you already get coil cuts for each HB with the On/On/On from the DM diagram, the single coil-cut switch from the other diagram adds nothing. Go with the On/On/On switches and you can eliminate the other switch from the second diagram.

Totally agree with you on the learning matter. But here's the thing: unfortunately (or fortunately, if you see it like me, or live it for that matter) I'm a dad for 18 months now. Also sitting at home with her, while the mum's at work. And I only get, like, 2 or 3 hours a week with the band. Apart from that, the city luthier charges $100 for a re-wiring. So, I'm begging the wife for an additional 4-5 hours to make this happen by myself, cause I ain't giving that much on something I can do myself, though extremely slowly. Though not being an electronics guy, I can/know only work by diagrams. Anyway, no point in telling that I don't have enough time to experiment. Yet I'd like to be more versatile when playing with the band.
I managed to modify an ML8, both pickups & wiring, and God knows that took me about 4 days, splitted time. But I did that at the lab at work, on my spare time during those days. Sometimes with the boss staring at me, lol. But did it! I won't hold any grudge though, if you can't/won't help. I'll understand.
For instance, just today I started modifying a South Korean PRS, to have myself a Jimmy Page wiring. When putting the pots back, saw that the holes need scaling up their diameter, looool. Don't know yet if I'm gonna drill them today still or maybe in a week. But could do this, only because the in-laws are visiting. So, they'll help with the kid.
Edit: But hey, no! The edited first post of mine is correct. Because at first I downloaded the wrong diagram from DiMarzio. The dual-sound is the one I'd like.

Whew! I thought maybe some demetia issues setting in at my end. . . I'll be happy to help with a diagram, it may just be a while. I've got to get back to real life work in a second here, and I already promised someone a diagram. But someone else may pop in, too, in the meantime.
