Hello!
I'd like to ask if you can give recommendations for Digital Tuners?
Main use if for intonation.
I need an accurate, reliable and stable tuner for this.
I had once a Korg Pitchblack in my pedalboard. I had a great experience with it. Thinking of buying again for intonation purposes.
I'm also considering, the Polytune clip-on tuner for ease of use.
On the other hand, others are recommending Boss tuners while some prefer strobe tuners.
Can you give recommendations?
Will appreciate if you can give more insights, personal experience and specific model/brand.
Thank you!

For intonation, you'd need good accuracy, but most modern ones can do +/-1 cent (1/100 of a semitone), and I reckon that's plenty.
I've got three tuners, the old Boss Tu2 is fine for tune-ups but not quite enough for intonation. But I also have a Boss Tu-10 clip-on, which is very good for this and nice and clear. On my board, a Digitech HT-6 also gives a very good accurate display.

I use a Peterson V-Sam and Strobostomp. Both are excellent, especially the latter. Once you become accustomed to strobe tuners you usually don't want anything else. I do feel that taking into account the asking prices, Peterson do rather "Trade on the name", but they are far from alone there. I believe most "Pro" guitar "techs" use strobe tuners, but that may just be a même.
e&oe ...

I second the Peterson products. I have an older Peterson VS-1 and also a new Strobostomp pedal that I really like. 1/10 of 1 cent accuracy. That is 30 times more accurate than the typical +/- 3 cent tuner and ten times more than the 1 cent accuracy tuners. Highly recommend a virtual Strobe tuner by Peterson. Also once in tune I no longer have to pay attention to the Note ie (E, A, D, G, B, E ) but just look at the movement of the strobe bars (moving up is sharp and moving down is Flat). The faster it goes the farther out of tune it is and as you get close it slows proportionately until dead stop (right on target). Fast and easy and accurate tuning. Your ears will tell a difference when intonated and tuned by these tuners.

Digital tuners... hmmm, I had a korg, at least I think that’s what it was called. It was good but doesn’t work anymore. Now, I just use my phone. There’s a free, to download, app on the App Store called “VITALtuner”. It is excellently written... and if you pay some fee you can unlock its other modes. But, all I need is EADGBE, and can easily tune to those notes without paying the fee. Or any notes for that matter... one of VITALtuner’s modes allows tuning to any standard tunings i.e. base guitar, tenor guitar, drop-D, etc. VITALtuner is wonderful! Just load the app and tune your guitar... no cables or battery insertion/removal needed. It also extremely accurate.

I have Peterson iStroboSoft on my phone. I think it cost like $5 (phone not included), and it works great. Nobody else can ever figure it out, but it works well for me.

Both are good but the Strobostomp is pedalboard size and has more features. Very accurate!
