This page is still under construction. HHH Tele 5-Way with All Series Connections Here's a wiring setup using Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups (although any SD single coil sized humbuckers should wire the same). If these pickups are installed with the standard Strat switching, positions 2 and 4 give you 2 humbuckers in parallel. With this setup, positions 2 and 4 give you a single coil of one pickup in series with a single coil of the other pickup for a virtual humbucker sound. A north coil of one pickup is combined with a south coil from the other pickup to maintain the hum cancelling properties of the pickups. 5-Way Switching: 1. Bridge Humbucker 2. Bridge South Coil & Middle North Coil in Series 3. Middle Humbucker 4. Neck North Coil & Middle South Coil in Series 5. Neck Humbucker HHH Tele 5-Way with Parallel In-Between Positions Here's another wiring setup using Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups (although any SD single coil sized humbuckers should wire the same). If these pickups are installed with the standard Strat switching, positions 2 and 4 give you 2 humbuckers in parallel. With this setup, positions 2 and 4 give you a single coil of one pickup in parallel with a single coil of the other pickup for a sound more like a traditional Strat in-between sound. A north coil of one pickup is combined with a south coil from the other pickup to maintain the hum cancelling properties of the pickups. 5-Way Switching: 1. Bridge Humbucker 2. Bridge South Coil & Middle North Coil in Parallel 3. Middle Humbucker 4. Neck North Coil & Middle South Coil in Parallel 5. Neck Humbucker Or, if you like Positions 2 & 4 to have no tone pot in the circuit, it could be wired like this. 5-Way Switching: 1. Bridge Humbucker 2. Bridge South Coil & Middle North Coil in Parallel - No Tone Control 3. Middle Humbucker 4. Neck North Coil & Middle South Coil in Parallel - No Tone Control 5. Neck Humbucker HHH Strat 5-Way with All Series Connections Here's a wiring setup using Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups (although any SD single coil sized humbuckers should wire the same). Neck Humbucker – Tone 1 HHH Strat with Series/Parallel Option for Positions 2 & 4 So, you could wire an HHH Strat so that Positions 2 & 4 are coils in series or you could wire it so that Positions 2 & 4 are coils in parallel, or you could add a switch and have both options. Here's what that looks like with a push-pull (or push-push) pot. A DPDT toggle switch could also be used. 5-Way Switching: Push-Pull Down: 1. Bridge Humbucker – No Tone 2. Bridge South Coil & Middle North Coil in Series – Tone 2 3. Middle Humbucker – Tone 2 4. Neck South Coil & Middle North Coil in Series – Tone 2 5. Neck Humbucker – Tone 1 Push-Pull Up: 1. Neck Humbucker – Tone 1 HHH Strat with Series/Parallel Option for Positions 2 & 4, Modified TBX Tone, and Neck/Bridge Blend Since I like to use my modified TBX Tone Control with humbuckers and I like the look and operation of the Fender S-1 switching pot, I decided to add those 2 things to this HHH Strat with Series/Parallel option setup. That left me with a place for another pot, so I decided to add a Neck/Bridge Blend control. 5-Way Switching: S-1 Up: 1. Bridge Humbucker with Neck Humbucker Blend 2. Bridge South Coil & Middle North Coil in Series 3. Middle Humbucker 4. Neck South Coil & Middle North Coil in Series 5. Neck Humbucker with Bridge Humbucker Blend S-1 Down: 1. Neck Humbucker with Bridge Humbucker Blend HHH Strat with Single Coil Options and All 3 Pickups in Position 3 Here's another wiring setup using Seymour Duncan Hot Rails pickups (although any SD single coil sized humbuckers should wire the same). This one uses 3 push-pull (or push-push) pots so that each of the humbuckers can be split to a single coil. I've chosen to wire it so that the Middle pickup splits to its south coil and the Neck & Bridge pickups split to their north coils so that Positions 2 & 4 will still be hum cancelling. Position 3 is all 3 pickups in parallel with no tone control. 5-Way Switching: 1. Bridge – Tone 2 2. Bridge & Middle – Tone 1 3. All 3 Pickups – No Tone 4. Neck & Middle – Tone 1 5.
