so if I'm correct, this is using the type of on/on/on switch I've never found that's a mirror image in the center position, correct?

N+B (never used that combo in a strat) is neat N*B is hefty but still sounds "single coil-ish" N*B+M is pretty cool too all three in parallel might work with a lot of distortion or a particularly bright amp (will test at some point), but as is is just too loaded down by both tone controls in circuit. wondering if making the tone pot connected to neck and middle 500k would alleviate that position.... all in all a good scheme, no dead spots and doesn't lose any of the stock sounds

trag, Regarding the all three in parallel, I'd suggest you give a listen to Apache, perchance by The Shadows, or similar in style. They don't use it (to the best of my knowledge, The Shadows never modified anything), but I prefer the sound of N+M+B for this particular tune. And leave off of the distortion, it's causing you to profoundly hate yourself! If the tone controls are loading things down, then procure some no-load posts. Or roll your own, that's even more satisfying. BTW, FWIW, the posted diagram shows textual descriptions instead of a Truth Table with abbreviations. That's good. But you used the single-letter abbreviations in your post, specifically N+B*M. When doing so, and specifically with 3 pickups being combined, it helps to use parens to denote exactly what's intended. In this case, I could've taken your combo to be either (N+B)*M or N+(B*M)*. Taken in overall context, I knew what you meant, but still. It's just a good habit to get into, to avoid confusion. HTH sumgai * In the main, the two listed combos should sound very much alike. But how about those times when the Bridge is quite a bit hotter than the others? Or it's an Hb? Or both the Bridge and the Neck are Hb's? At this point, it usually does make a difference as to which way is the intended combo.
