Hello everyone, I'm again posting more "every pickup combination strat" wiring diagrams. I hope you won't mind my opening a new thread since my previous posts are old and I think this one deserves its own thread. What this wiring achieves : - all pickup combinations - no apparent modification - preserves the original 5-way layout with the usual strat tones Drawbacks - hinges on not very common switches : the eyb 8P5T switch, and a rotary 4P6T - sacrifices one tone pot The phase switches are on push pull pots. So here is the wiring diagram: And this is a video of the mod being tested by me on an actual guitar, hope it's ok to link: Fore reference, my previous thread also had an easier mod, that also has all pickup combinations and stock appearance (using a 4P3T 3-way switch as switch 1) (but not the original 5 way layout). I'd love to hear your thoughts, Cheers, Alexis

I take it the phase switches are on P/P pots, if stock appearance is being preserved? (I suppose the video shows this, haven't had the chance to watch it yet)

alexis : You might find this scheme by the late ChrisK of interest, it's from years ago. He uses 3 rotary switches to get all possible combos of 3 SC pickups except one. He also discusses that the Schaller 8P5T switch could be used instead, just as you have done. (Back when Chris wrote this, the 8-pole Schaller switch was not so readily available, one had to call Schaller up on the phone(after brushing up on one's German skills) and beg them to put one together - At least, IIRC) 3-pickup rotocaster

I hope you won't mind my opening a new thread since my previous posts are old and I think this one deserves its own thread. Hi alexis The age of a thread is not important. Content does matter, though. If posting a minor modification to a previous wiring diagram, you would make a new post in the old thread. If you're presenting a completely different wiring diagram, a new thread is not only permitted, it's recommended. In this case, you have content that deserves three new threads. I'd suggest creating a separate thread for the Brian May inspired wiring diagram and a separate thread for the 6P3T and two DPDT ON-ON-ON wiring diagram. After the new threads are created, you could edit the OP of this thread and remove those. And this is a video of the mod being tested by me on an actual guitar, hope it's ok to link: Definitely okay. btw, regarding usage of boards and sub-boards: Guitar Wiring is intended for requests and wiring ideas that are works in progress. Any wiring diagrams which have been fully tested and are successful are eligible for the Guitar Schematics sub-board. If you have any threads which you believe fit the necessary criteria, feel free to PM me or any other staff member and we can move them for you.
