over the years of playing guitar most of us go out and buy a guitar for our own use, but normally we dream about being like mike myers in waynes world, letting our minds search for that one guitar we cant access or cant afford... what is your top 5-10 or so (doesnt matter) guitars that youd love to own if money wasnt an ussue - Gibson Explorer
- any year gibson les paul
- rickenbacker
- any year fender strat
- any steel string guitar

I pretty much have everything I want at this point. In fact I got a few of the guitars on your list, too. I’d like to have a Bass VI or something similar, maybe a decent lap or pedal steel, and a friend of mine posted a tiny little tele thing that was tuned a full octave above standard that got me thinking a little. I don’t need any of them badly enough to justify the expense right now, though.

I’d like to have a Bass VI or something similar, i just got a fender pawnshop bass vi a few months back. had in the uk send me a staytrem bridge so that it can intonate properly for a 'tweener like me it's close to being the perfect type of instrument, although i need to work on how i attack the strings because it's a lot easier to get them to bottom out than I'm used to on a standard 4 string

i just got a fender pawnshop bass vi a few months back. My friend’s got one of the Squiers. He asked me recently if he could store some guitars at my house. I was really hoping he’d bring that one, but nope. Brought me his Jag instead because it has that bridge problem. I had it dialed in for him to where I thought it was playable, but I guess it’s still not working for him. Gonna try to shim the neck and see if I can get it to work before he comes back for it. I’m just plain running out of space! I’ve got 10 hanging off the wall, leaving 5 (including Harry’s two) leaning against the walls, like five in my bedroom closet... I’d take a real Rick 4000 series bass if I could get it for like $150 or less. :/ Oh and an electric cello! I bought the cheapest cello I could find with the intention of adding pickups and things, but, well it’s the cheapest cello I could find.

Lists, lists, lists ...
As ashcatlt says, I'm pretty much sorted.
1. Stefan Sobel "New World" Acoustic. 2. Firebird V (or VII) with a Vibrola. 3. Heritage Sweet16. 4. Yamaha SA2000s. 5. Fender Danny Gatton Telecaster.
My 'Bird doesn't have a Vibrola. My Yamaha isn't the "S" suffix variant. My Gatton Tele is self assembled around a Warmoth neck and a brace of old production Bardens, but looking at that list I'm counting my blessings, so I reckon I must be pretty lucky.
e&oe ...

My goals are really low for guitars that I sold and still dream about.
1. - ‘80 Ovation Deacon 2. - ‘76 Electra MPC
Isn’t that pathetic?

RT's LP Recording would also be on my list, as would frets' Ovation Deacon (although a Breadwinner would be good, too).
And ashcatlt said:
Pretty much any Ric at that price! Except, for $150, I assume it would just be expensive kindling . . .
One of the Ric 12-strings would definitely be on my list. I don't think I'd seen one of those Melody Maker 12s before, wasn't aware that existed.

Not sure my dream guitar exists, it’s yet to be designed and built
I did get a custom made guitar once which was a total fail . Lesson learned
I would maybe have a pre cbs hard tail strat that is beat up and refinished so it’s much cheaper than normal, then I’d have it refinished again pure white. The purest whitest white possible. Then get a pure white singly ply pickguard and white pickup covers
I’d like a few 7 , 8 , 9 strings and convert them to 6 strings. I like the solid feel of a big neck and also like having lots of room in between strings. Not coz I have large hands, just coz you can minipulate a single string a lot better (bends, vibrato etc) with more room, your not knocking into strings above you. Also the high e string is far too close to the edge of the fret board for me
