What you reckon guys? I quite fancy a pro reverb, but price is a bit high maybe at £1650? Unfortunately everything is much more expensive over here in the U.K. I just had the opportunity to buy a real beat up one for £800 but it sold Been talking to the owner of the £1650 one. He lives in Scotland but is from California. He seems to know his stuff and learned from his dad who fixed TVs. He did the blackface mods himself I would prefer a blackface coz well, I’m not sure why ... coz they are better ?? Well, I like the thought of having the first versions of the amp which seem more valuable. But maybe the first versions of the silver face are ok. Must be some differences if he is changing things back to blackface. I know the later pro reverbs with mid controls and master volume are 70 watts and less desirable coz they don’t sound as good . Anyway, the switches on the front don’t look authentic to me , but he reckons they are from the factory and are rare. I really don’t like how they look aesthetically. I know it’s vain and shallow but it kind of puts me off buying it just because of that ! How does it look inside the chassis ? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1973-Fender-Blackfaced-silver-face-pro-reverb-amplifier-/174343765337?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

I had the chance to buy one of the new 64 deluxe reverb hand wired amps recently for £1550. He paid about £2300 less than a year ago.
I was tempted but , these amps have an issue with hiss/hum apparently
He showed me a video of the amp and on each channel there a popping noise at around 5 on the volume when you turn the volume up and down. They think it’s something to do with both channels sharing the reverb. Anyway, fender won’t do anything about it.
Fender used to do a 5 year transferable warranty, but now it’s 2 years and NON transferable .
Anyway, that amp sold on eBay so I don’t have the opportunity anymore

i find my best amp treasures trolling Craigslist (or whatever your local variant), reverb, and facebook marketplace. i don't set out to find anything but a good deal. works pretty well for me and i don't end up overpaying like i would if i set out for something specific. maybe "red paperclip" yourself up to a pro reverb? those switches definitely don't look stock, nor do a lot of the insides. probably dodged somebody else's hack job

Might aswell do a super reverb and vibroverb too no reverb , no trem, just a simple clean platform for pedals. Cheaper too with less stuff Could maybe get a builder to make one Yeah, I don’t think I’m going to buy the pro reverb, I think it’s way overpriced, especially as it’s not original and has been modified by possibly at least 2 people. I would prefer the amp was serviced properly before buying , but that’s more money and inconvenience This one looks interesting , I like the fact it’s from the first year of production, but probably still overpriced . There is no pics inside the chassis and its had some components changed I think but I guess that’s to be expected or will be inevitable it will have to be done before caps start leaking etc. reverb.com/uk/item/36065357-fender-pro-reverb-1965-blackface

I just noticed when you look at the power cable that comes in and is connected to the standby an on off switches at the front , the wire look British to me , brown blue and green/yellow
Surly the Americans are not going to wire it up with British colours ? And it’s a European model with the selector switch for different European voltages , not just British .
Is it possible fender ship the amp to U.K. then they do the finishing touches and wire up the plug to suit the country your in ?
Doesn’t seem likely ? But don’t want to offend the guy as I could be wrong
The wire itself just looks newer and different in contrast to the rest of the wiring. It just doesn’t look stock to me as it looks kinda rough
I looked at loads of other pro reverb chassis images and none have those colours, it’s all black white and gray or black white and green (I think )

depending on the year of the amp it likely came with a 2 prong cord stock so very likely would've been changed if 3 prong
