Just wondering if this would even be possible, to be clear I wouldn't be doing the work myself as I have no experience in soldering and have never done anything like this.
At the moment this mainly a thought experiment more than anything.
Change out the kill switch on the top panel to a three position switch: neck/both/bridge
On the lower panel two of the switches that currently are on offs for the corresponding pickup, I'd like to change these to three position switches that set the pickup to humbucker, blend (controlled by the top panel pot) and split coil. I'd like that to be done for both pickups. The strangle switch I would leave as is.
This is the part I have trouble visualising. Is there a type of switch that could achieve this?
On the volume and tone pots, I would like to be able to control them for each pickup individually with concentric pots so still two knobs but with top and bottom dials (like the controls on some j-basses).
How feasible would this be to achieve? What's the cost likely to be (ball park)? Any issues with what I envision? Or has anyone done something similar and gone on to regret it or wishes that they'd done it differently?

What three position switches are you planning to use? The only 3 position slide switches I'm aware of are the Mustang switches, which are longer than the Jaguar/Jazzmaster two position slide switches (so won't fit in your standard jaguar control plates)

Well that's the reason I posted what kind of switch could be used to achieve what I've described?
Wouldn't have to be a slide switch, would the Mustang switch be able to do what I'm looking to do?
Having a new control plate cut wouldn't be too much of an issue. Again this isn't something I plan on doing tomorrow it's the germ of an idea and I'm just trying to gauge if it's even possible electrically speaking, pointless worrying about control plates if it's not feasible so trying to establish that first.

Not sure about whether Mustang slide switches would work but it definitely sounds doable with DPDT on/on/on mini toggles on the bottom control plate Edit: this will work with SPDT on-off-on mini toggle switches as your single/humbucker/blend controls. The pickup selector works with any standard three way switch used in any guitar, though you could use a DPDT on/on/on mini toggle for this.
