It's going to be a while before I'm ready to build the main guitar design I'm working on, so I've been trying to come up with a few simpler mods that will let me try out some new sounds and get some wiring practice in. This design uses a regular five way switch and two DPDTs to give the standard Strat single coil sounds, plus ten series combinations. With SW2 down the pickup selector gives the five regular Strat combinations. Positions 2 and 4 always have the humbucker split, and SW3 toggles positions 1 and 5 between single coil and humbucker. With SW2 up, SW3 adds either the neck South or bridge South coil in series with the same five single coil selections. This diagram shows the neck and bridge pickup being split to the North coil, which is the same polarity as the middle pickup. That means the N+M and B+M sounds aren't hum-cancelling, but all the series combinations are.
I have to admit that I don't really know what some of the series selections will sound like. That's part of the reason why I want to build it, but I would be interested in opinions on any of the extra sounds, or any alternative options. The diagram above is the one I'm planning on building, but I also came came up with a few variations. (EDIT: See my reply below for the latest versions)
This version uses three poles of a superswitch to add two extra combinations; BHB+M and NHB+M:
Both these designs leave the neck South and bridge South coils hanging from hot. This can mostly be prevented by giving SW2 and SW3 an extra pole each. Version 1: Version 2:

Interesting designs.
I suspect that you could also address the 'hanging from hot' issues by redesigning in the opposite direction. So start off with the hot going to one pole of the switch, in the normal way, and then to three hots from B(n), M, N(n). Then put N(s) and B(s) and all the switching stuff on the 'ground' side of those three single coils. I haven't worked it through, but that orientation might make it easier to get a design that avoids hot hanging.

I should have some free time this evening to take another look at it. Ok, here's the new, improved versions that don't leave anything hanging from hot, using only DPDTs. Full credit goes to jhng for the idea. Version 1: Version 2:
