with quite a bit of effort on my part, i turned this into this next up is mighty mite neck (plays like a dream!) on a gfs pauwlonia body finally, aria body with the scalloped neck that used to be on the black squier i have one more project in the works, an odyssey strat copy that looks like somebody tried to "relic" it with a friggin band saw... oh craigslist, you never seem to disappoint me with your surprises

That Strat turned out nice. I love the color, but I am a bit partial...I've got a JM style project the same seafoam green... And your output rate is better then mine. But I would question your estimation that the Odyssey was relic'd with a bandsaw...I think it was probably a sandblaster... +1 for the Strat. Very clean. Happy Trails Cynical One

Just for reference, am I the only one who feels that artificial relicing is something akin to a spray on tan for a guitar?

i've never understood it i prefer to have each dent remind me of how i got it, not of how i attacked the finish one day when i was bored (or, taking into account the previous owner, tweaking)

I didn't like it at first. Fake mojo. Then I realized, some folks like black guitars, some like to put stickers on theirs, some like beeswax:). If you think about it its just a paint job, or lack there of. I played the fender road worns...they were nice... Yours are really cool. +1

here is a[n almost] completed photo (ordered a set of black tele-style knobs from hong kong, so this should be finished within the neck three months): sanded the finish off the neck and refinished with tung oil, scrubbed the crap out of the fretboard with murphy's oil soap, polished the frets with 0000 steel wool and then the polishing wheel of my dremel pickups are highway one neck pickup (wound to a whopping 11k dcr) in the bridge/tex mex bridge pickup (in the middle)/texas special neck pickup (in the neck) controls are 3-way switch (doesn't have the notches, but it's easy to get the quack tones), master volume, middle tone (push/pull is middle phase switch), neck/bridge tone (push/pull is neck-on switch that also takes the neck out of the tone circuit) this strat definitely seems a lot more 'bluesy' than any of the others i own... hopefully it'll help me hone my blues licks

and yeah, i owe you guys samples for the last five partscasters... gotta try to find some time between playing gigs and recording other bands and working to give you your long overdue sound samples!

Didn't the whole State follow you to Florida? Except, of course, for those NJ'ers older than you who were already there? ;D
