This is geared toward how to use a digital multi-meter. These range from the very cheap (I mean this in the most demeaning way possible) to the very expensive. I bought one at Harbor Freight for $2.95. I don't use it, I was just amazed that it was $2.95. I have one that I paid $179 for. It's quite good. For general measurement, I would get one with 3 1/2 digits (0 to 1999). For guitar pickup and control measurement, I'd get 3 3/4 digits (0 to 3999). I have one that measures 80,000 counts (0 to 79,999), but most won't want this. This is a good tutorial. I notice a few things (aside from the overuse of the letter "u"), especially that of the "crocodile" clip (the toothed clamping jaw clip). But, of course, alligators are indigenous only to the Americas. www.doctronics.co.uk/meter.htmen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multimetermechatronics.mech.northwestern.edu/design_ref/tools/multimeter.htmlwww.umd.umich.edu/casl/natsci/slc/slconline/DIG/ecmweb.com/mag/electric_basics_digital_multimeters/This is a National Instruments site that is waaayyy beyond most needs, but has significant info. zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3457#toc0
