Hey guys! I'm re-wiring an old Kay ES335 copy. They asked me to replace the bridge PU with a Bill Lawrence XL500 (the infamous Dimebag Darrel pickup). I've got that wiring down... but the original(?) neck pickup was wired in wrong (in fact, the old bridge pu was as well). So I want to rewire the entire thing! I'm following this diagram: My question is this: The old neck pickup has a red wire, a white wire, and an outer shield. I suspect the red is hot, and the white and shield get soldered to ground... does anyone concur? Thanks for the help!

Quarry- Good to see you back. I concur, although if it's backwards with the BL pup you'll need to flip the wiring in one or the other anyways. Given a hollow (or semi-hollow) body, I'd want to make sure in the first instance, since it's such a PITA to rewire it if it's wrong. Somewhere a while back, someone posted the test protocol for determining pickup phasing. Now I just have to dig that post up.

Quarry, good to hear from you and - seeing as your schematic says Sheraton II, and lpdeluxe has peeled the wallpaper off his walls with cuss words while rewiring his - you may want to scroll down to reply #17. D2o
