The soldering (the damned soldering ) is done. I think I'm getting too old for all this rewiring malarky! ;D Anyhow... Everything seems to have come out as planned (except that I managed to wire the tone knob backwards ). All in all I've got to say that I'm very very pleased with this config. The single coil positions aren't too unforgivably bright with the 500k pots. That was my biggest fear. But I found that I can tame them a bit with the tone knob, so I've decided to nix the inline capacitor plan. Having them a bit on the bright side helps them cut through a bit more when I'm using them with one of the humbuckers anyway. I think the only thing I want to modify at the moment is the pot for the tone knob. A linear pot would (hopefully) give me a bit more "fine tuning" control over those single coils. I'm still a bit on the fence about weather to go with a .022 or a .01 tone cap. I'll likely wait until I get the linear pot installed before I make a decision on that. The only thing as far as wiring goes that I'm still struggling with is this active EQ/Boost circuit thingamajig. It seems to be one of those things that's shaping up to be a cool little novelty, but only vaguely useful at best. I do seem to be finding it somewhat handy for a "lead" sound in the neck humbucker position. Just to give it that extra tinge of brightness. But it dries everything up so much in all of the other positions that I have to wonder if I wouldn't be better off just getting it out of my way. These Lace Sensors certainly don't need any help with the "dryness" factor. And it would be nice to only have two knobs on the pick guard. Part of me wonders, though, if this circuit would become more useful in a live setting. Especially at an open stage perhaps - where I'm not playing through my own gear. Anyway... Just some wandering thoughts on this setup. Overall it's coming along nicely I think. I really believe that I'll have a solid useful axe when this is all said and done. I certainly seem to be on the right path anyway... All the best!
