I took a close look inside the control cavity and......
.....the Ibanez bridge HB has only 3 wires !?!?!?!?! I assume these are HB beginning (before the first coil), midpoint between the 2 coils, and end (ground/shield.. end of 2nd coil).
I think this means that I cannot get a parallel connection on the bridge HB without modifying the bridge HB to be 4 wire... correct ?!

ok so u are not gutsy enough to reply LOL
I just received my fender 5way superswitch and am about to install this bad boy, but first here is my question:
Would you put in a Telecaster plate to protect the guitar's paint from the screws digging in hard, or would you just throw caution to the wind completely and let the 5way superswitch's two install screws sit on the paint and gloss coat of this shiny roadstar II RS410 ?!

ok so u are not gutsy enough to reply LOL... well, that might be one explanation. another might be: i'm not sure how much time i want to invest in working with you on this, until you do some research on your own. so far we've spent the better part of a month and 2 pages, only to find out that your pickup doesn't have 4 wires, like you originally thought. so the time spent thinking about what would be the best way to configure your switching, just went swirling down the drain. since i've already been involved in a 5 page monster: guitarnuts2.proboards45.com/index.cgi?board=wiring&action=display&thread=1148998058&page=1i'm a bit wary about doing another one. i will suggest that you figure out how those 3 wires connect to your pickup, and what that will mean in terms of what you can do with the wiring before you bother to mount the switch. will you be able to do anything worthwhile with it? will you be better off modifying your pickup connections to 4 wire? or should you just buy a 4 wire pickup or two? there are lots of other members who could help you, so i think i'll take a break, and let one of them pick up the ball from here. good luck, unk
