I get a loud bell like ringing tone after I hit my G or B string. Is fairly loud on a clean sound. Tried lowering the pickup. Ibanez AXR300CRS with a Seymour Duncan SH-1 59 in the bridge. I am going thru a Vox AD120VT with I got a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if it is the guitar pickup or amp because the same thing happens on my strat and I haven't noticed it before. Any suggestions. Thanks

blueswaite, It appears that you thought your first post had been deleted - not so! I moved it over to the Lutherie and Repair section, it being a guitar-mechanism oriented question. You now bring in the aspect of the amplifier, and it doesn't help that the problem occurs with another guitar. Time to re-think my previous answer........ The AD120VT has a tube. It may be microphonic, which means that it tends to resonate extremely well on certain notes, or a range of notes. Try a new tube and see what happens. Yes, your amp (if purchased new) is under warranty. Explain what's happening to the retailer, and see if they'll take care of that for you, gratis. If not, then it's not hard to do this yourself, only you have to pay for the tube. And for sure, the tube isn't the only thing that can cause this, your amp may have other faulty componentry inside. Again, if under warranty, and replacing the tube doesn't work, then return it, pure and simple. If you like it, replace it...... but test it first, before leaving the store. (Of course, web orders make that chore a little bit harder. ) If you're leery of having the problem happen again, then investigate other amps. HTH sumgai
