Think of this thread as a .. joke ? At least that. Or other approbations: Folly of Man; Seach for the Ineffable and Unknowable; Challenge to authority; abject silliness ..... etc. I am proud to associate with the other clowns. While most of us fall into the trap of taking ourselves seriously, a nice thing about this group is that there are some really smart people who also (occasionally) enjuy the insight intelligence conveys, in that is shiines light on the vast body of knowledge we are clueless about. Thus a moment of humility. And since I am so humble I naturally want to be a God. Huh?

ah, Bam, i am impressed at the one-up-manship.
CK posts single words, so you post single letters. slick.
and yes, Rune, we noticed. you stopped at exactly 500 posts.
whoop-dee-doo!
...................and then there were 4.

...Let's suppose a person makes just 1 posting but it is a simple wiring diagram that for a mere 7$ can make your guitar sound like a Les Paul, a Fender Strat, a bass, a sitar, a balalaika, a ukulele and can make mounds and mounds of coleslaw for just pennies. How could such a person retain a "new member" status with such an innovation? On the other hand any member who posts a diagram that can make your guitar sound like the New American Legacy Guitar by Esteban should be banned for life. Wolf, we had just such a person on the boards, a while back. all right, i admit, he didn't quite hit on the first six. just the mounds and mounds part. and julienned tubers too! he belonged with the Esteban crowd. unk

What have I unleashed on the world? When I checked the Top Posters stats, RW wasn't even close... now, I'm gonna have to turn in my Good Citizenship merit badge for letting loose the Krakatoa! OK, Zeus, I'll see your Diana, and raise you a pair of Athenas! FWIW..... None of you have yet hit on the true method of spoofing post numbers. Sadly it's something that RandomHero can't control, so I'm not letting the cat out of the bag. But I feel like I must admit that early on, my post count was 'boosted' by 4 before I discovered what was happening. At that point, I stopped doing what I was doing. Not out of sheer horror at cheating or anything like that, just to be polite. But that begs the question - are Gods supposed to be polite? ;D sumgai

Aw SG, don't give yourself too much credit, I found the sieves in the filter, at least some of them, just did not advertise it. Suffice to say the system can be gamed. And I showed some of the more obvious ones, and employed some of the the less obvious ones, because it made me fell BAD, then stopped when that migrated to silly. Aaaahhhh the system is what it is. In the end I just like the community irrespecitive of approbation.
But to paraphrase Tom Petty, It's good to be God."

Rune, Yeah, I can't imagine that I'm the only one who's found that particular hole. Most forums are not hosted by the software provider, like ProBoards is, so they can be patched - not so, here. That's why you and I tend to keep quiet, right? But as good as the TP quote was, I like even better what I believe ChrisK would say: System Is. sumgai

I don't know what System Is means, unless it has something to do with Yoda. But of course, now that I am omniscient I can't admit that. I may have to return to my mortal state of "ignorance is bliss." I keep thinking it is missing the Forest Gump interpretation: System is as System does.
