These two curves, "A" & "C" represent the typical curve of guitar pots. At 50% (centered, at "5" on a Strat knob), both elements are at about 16% of full-scale, which is 40K on a 250K pot and 80K on a 500K pot. Please note that the curves are not logarithmic, but piecewise linear in nature (and manufacturing realities). Below is a different scale, fairly similar, fairly logarithmic at the lower ends, but still piecewise linear at the higher ends.
