FYI, this is the Toneshaper board. You can find more information on my site santellansounds.com I think using the non-sharing 5-way switch would be a better and more cost effective solution for me since I plan to use it on my new esquire design. I currently do not have any plans to use a superswitch at this time. I forgot to note that the lever switch and output jack are prewired and part of the kit.

santa, So all the user wiring is confined to one header, eh? Very nifty, I like it. The less chance for user error, the better your reputation. I have to take back what I said about being able to do everything with a standard 2P5T switch - ain't gonna happen. (John, don't spew your beer all over your screen, I realize that you were just waiting to see how I was gonna dig myself out of this hole! ;D) Since you "authorized" the use of a superswitch should it become necessary, I went ahead and used it. Now we're cooking with gas! In the drawing below, the 5-way is set to Neck position, and the DPDT is set to Bridge Always On. Trace it out, and I think you'll find that it does the job you originally asked for, and seemingly without any gotcha's. (But don't quote me on that last part, I've been known to be blind to my own genius! Better make sure at least a couple others here sign off on it, before you start your AutoRouter program. ) Ye Olde Truth Table:SW1 up (Blower On only when Bridge selected all by itself) 1 - N 2 - N + M 3 - M 4 - M + B 5 - B (Blower on) SW2 down (Bridge always on, no blower ever) 1 - N + B 2 - N + M + B 3 - M + B 4 - M + B 5 - B ( EDIT: The next paragraph has been repealed - see following post.) I was unable to make the circuit Blow the Bridge in both modes, Bridge Always On or Off, not even with the extra (and currently unused) switch section. I hope that's OK with you. And most definitely, a giant +1 to John for his hint about using a switch section to direct the output flow! HTH sumgai

OK, as before, but with the Blower enabled in both Bridge Always On, and when it's off: The New and Improved Truth Table:SW1 up (Blower On only when Bridge selected all by itself) 1 - N 2 - N + M 3 - M 4 - M + B 5 - B (Blower on) SW2 down (Blower On only when Bridge selected all by itself, Bridge always on) 1 - N + B 2 - N + M + B 3 - M + B 4 - M + B 5 - B (Blower on) That gets you back your original SPST switch, albeit you now have a superswitch to deal with. But it's not the parts count or expense so much as it's the ability to give the player what he/she wants in the way of mods..... and that's what you're all about, eh? Shouldn't take much effort to implement both schemes on one board, with a DIP switch to select one scheme or the other. That outta make the end user happy! ;D HTH sumgai

Sumgai, Your diagram is spot on. The superswitch is a small price to pay for having a valuable playable and easy to use wiring scheme.
A special thanks to you, John, Newey, Wolf and Ashcatlt for your help accomplishing this task.
I have to say I really like John's two volume strat but unfortunately I would need CTS make me a dual gang pcb mounted pot for it to work on my board. Maybe down the road.
What I would like to add is Wolf's solo switch. It is an easy to use mod that I think most players would find useful.
Lot's of ideas to explore now that I have a superswitch.
Best Regards to all, Larry

LS,
You're welcome!
But, but, but <insert motorboat sound here>.... we were all thinking that "Blower" meant "solo switch", but in this case, it was to be for the bridge only. Or are there other plans afoot that didn't pertain to the Blower after all?
Doesn't matter, I had fun thinking it through, and I definitely worked out some kinks in my AutoCAD menu. (On a laptop, it's kinda difficult to find an old-style serial port for my 1980's digitizer. The touchpad doesn't let me put a menu overlay on top of it (it'd be way too small!), so I've customized the on-screen menues, and I'll get back up to speed, the more drawings I do.)
