Well, I guess it's time we started some topics on the new board. I was wondering about where you folks have ordered from OR what companies you have found on the Internet that sell switches, potentiometers, capacitors, etc.
I have ordered from Guitar Electronics and they seem pretty good. A place I ordered from recently was www.valuesurplus.com/ Not really a guitar parts supply website but I recently ordered 50 6PDT switches from them for $18 (including shipping. Seems they have some great closeout electronics deals.
Here's another interesting website: www.demarelectronics.com It seems they sell a lot of surplus items too. You can get a DPDT switch for 90 cents there. (Compare that to $5 or more from anyone else.) Just wondering what others thought of these suppliers.
For parts I prefer: Stew-Mac Guitar Electronics and Allparts
For Tubes I like: biz, run by a guy in his garage or something. But spectacular CS and a nice selection of modern production stuff and NOS. Grab a few of his JAN Phillps 12AX7s if you have some spare cash lying around. Great sounding NOS tubes at a damn good price(the Groove Tube Mullard Reissues are only $2 less, so you can get the real thing for the price of current production tubes)
All useful info. I'm located in Australia. Does anyone know a source in Australia for less generally common, guitar orientated, switches such as dpdt on-on-on, or for 3 or 5 position lever switches? Otherwise it means getting them shipped from overseas. Theres no trouble finding the more standard toggle and rotary switches.
Not sure if anyone else here yet is located in Aus, but maybe one day someone will read this!

Well, here's an idea.
We deal with so many different component needs that go beyond a quick trip down to RS that it might be a good idea to create a compendium of the electronic components that we actually use, and links to the best deals on the net.
For instance, how many times have we had requests for a good source of .33uf 400V caps? Long list indeed of the different things we use.
I'll start the least in a new thread, and then if the mods could sticky it, then we'd have a place that everyout could go to to get that info.

Hi, I don't suppose anyone knows any decent parts suppliers in the UK. Particularly anyone who supplies prewired scratchplates in HSS config (I'm on a very tight budget ). The only ones I can find sell SSS scratchplates ripped from cheapo squiers.
