:D
I've wired countless strats and telecasters. Some straight forward and others more complex. As a hobby. I followed a Seymour Duncan General Strat Schematic1 volume, 2 tones, 5 way switch. I wired it as the schematic shows over and over and two things...1. The volume knob range is from 7 to 10 and the tone knobs do nothing, they have noeffect. I used Guitar Electronics stuff taken right out of the box...Please...WHAT IS GOING ON

Hi oldfret, welcome to GN2.
When you say the volume knob range is 7 to 10, does that mean that the volume only drops a bit even if turned to minimum (like a normal working knob, in range 7 to 10), or does it mean that it goes from zero output to max in the range 7-10?.
If its the former, together with the tone issue, then I suspect the ground end of the pots is not getting grounded. Hows the tone at max? does it sound normal? does the 5-way work correctly?
cheers
John
