I didn't think the Green Ringer was actual Ring Modulation. I think it's more like rectification, though it has much the same "octave up" kind of sound. The wiki link that newey referenced earlier shows a transformer and four diodes. That's all it really takes. The rest of the circuit would be buffers (or amplifiers) and power supply and maybe an oscillator for the carrier wave.
can that be done?
