in the superswitch, the 2 poles in the left side are the bottom poles and the 2 poles in the right side are the the upper poles? "Bottom poles" and "upper poles" are undefined terms until you actually install the switch into a particular guitar. The diagram doesn't concern itself with the physical locations of components. This is why we typically number (or use letters- "A, B, C, D") to designate the poles, so we can talk about the wiring without talking about up or down, right or left (i.e., as shown on the diagram, not IRL). While Yogi B 's original drawing did not do so, birdman's redraw added "A, B, C, D" along the top of the switch representation to identify the 4 poles. All 4 poles of a Superswitch are identical, so you could wire it swapping poles around however you wished, so long as the wiring follows the diagram.
