It's all in the title really. Does a 5 way, 4 pole superswitch relate to a 5 position 4 pole rotary switch? It's the same right? You just spin it, not slide it. Right?

Yup. My guitar has a double barrel switching arrangement, with one "barrel" being a 5 position rotary.

if you look at the superswitch, it is EXACTLY a 4pole,5throw rotary, turned on it's side, with a lever to rotate it.
i don't know (but i doubt) if there are versions of this, that bridge between contacts, similar to the 2pole,3throw (5 POSITION) lever action rotary. (stock strat switch)
the megaswitch is an entirely different animal altogether.

So could the switch here be replaced with a rotary? If so, how would i know which terminals on the super switch, are which terminals on the rotary? If you get what i mean ;D Jim

i think when you look at the rotary, it will become apparent.
the lugs on the outside of the drawing are the poles.
they have longer contacts that are always touching the wiper.
just make sure that the throws are connected to the section that correspond to the appropriate wiper, and in the correct sequence.

Hey, Jim-- Go for the 6-position "horizontal" rotary, and get both/parallel/out-of-phase, and then I can use your diagrams. I might even be able to figure out all by myself how to get the second volume pot in there for the mod I'm doing. ;D I'd give up both/parallel/OOP and use a 5-way, but the 6-way is already on its way from the vendor.
