piezo elements are pretty cheap, 30-60 cents per piece. if you want i can try to buy some at the local conrad shop and mail them to you it's very kind of you to offer! right now i have so many unfinished projects going on, i doubt i'll ever do any piezo experiments. if i ever do, i'll check locally first. doing international shipments is probably a big pain in the ... if there's a big difference in price here it might be worth the effort. thanks, unk

Hmmm...sorry, I been away (distracted) lately... I think I can help you here...but there may be some conditions....first...link me up to this preamp... quote] second...Mr. Cat...can you keep a [glow=red,2,300]secret[/glow]??Let me explain... I spent a lot of time miniturizing my sustainer driver designs and eventually got them to be very small using tiny Rare Earth Magnets and a "secret" component... I also wound tiny coils around these little buggers but it will drive you insane. I have never revealed my clever, clever method of making my tiny hex drivers, but I can tell you that it will work in reverse as a low impedance pickup with preamplification. They could even be made small enough that you may not have to put them actually in the neck (I have my doubts about this) and since you are using two, if you reverse the polarities (turn one magnet upside down) and the winding (wire one oposite the other) it will be hum cancelling. They wont have monster "tone" but you will get a reasonable signal of each string. Another method is to use a tape head. I believe this is how early Hex pickups like roland originally made them...time to raid some old cassette players...essentially they are made of magnets and coils of wires... Rather than in the neck, I'd be inclined to place them close to the bridge or between the pickups. My drivers were 5mmx5mmx10mm but there are a couple of ways to make them even smaller but deeper for instance. Anyway, as the way I produced them was never revealed, I'd kind of like to keep the idea off the public board, so perhaps PM me and see what I can do... shhhh...[glow=blue,2,300] pete[/glow]

OK...thanks for the preamp answer...
I sent a PM but must run now...let me know what you think Mr. Cat, hope that puts a grin on your face...and I'll see if I can rustle up a drawing or two to better explain it... pete
