If you want to picture what it would sound like, here's a chart from the tone-cap thread that you noted: This one deals with a more common range 0.010, 0.022 and 0.047 uF. ie, each is about x2 the previous, and 0.1uF would be the next in the series. If you put in a 0.1uF, you would expect no difference to the other caps when the tone pot is high. But at min tone pot setting, you will get the next in the series of diminishing red peaks. Imagine the next red one, lower and to the left with the same spacing, and I reckon you'd be pretty right. I believe this cap value was first used in the 50's, for playing jazz chords and mellow bass lines at a time before bass guitars were available.

And that's probably why it seems like the sound almost goes away when I turn the pot way down (at least through the earbuds I'm using right now). I think I'll switch to something much smaller!
