Hi y'all,
I'm a big fan of this mod I just found by PablOScar1 on Reddit.
www.reddit.com/r/Luthier/comments/147d74o/13_strat_mod_dan_armstrong_mod_blender_mod/ "With the Dan Armstrong mod you get 4 new ones:
1- Bridge in series to middle
2- Neck in parallel and out of phase to middle
3- Middle
4- Bridge in parallel and out of phase to middle
5- Neck in series to middle
Then, with the Blender mod you get... let's say two new ones, for now:
1- Bridge in parallel to neck
2- All three pickups in parallel
3- Middle
4- All three pickups in parallel
5- Neck in parallel to bridge
And then, with both mods active, you get two new sounds:
1- Bridge in series to middle, with the neck added in parallel
2- No sound
3- Middle
4- No sound
5- Neck in series to middle with the bridge added in parallel"
Assuming you are on the neck position, turning on dpdt put the Neck and Middle in series, and by using the blender knob you blend in the Bridge in parallel.
I currently have a dual C100k and a dual C250k pot which I can convert to no-load if I have to.
I wonder if using a dual taper pot can help me wire a standard blender mod when the DPDT turned off using the first stack, and using another stack for Armstrong blender when DPDT turned on.
For example in the neck position, when I turn on DPDT it's still only the neck pickup but I can blend in the middle in series with blender knob, as well as the oop blender in pos 4 and 2 just like the standard Armstrong blender. Is this possible?
Thank you for any clarifications as I have zero electronic background and this question might not be making any sense.
