Hi,
I've got a 4P3T rotary that I pulled from the Squire '51 that I'm renovating and I'd like to rewire it to offer series / parallel and single switching for a humbucker.
Does anybody have a schematic for this? I've had a look through the archives and can't seem to find one.
Thanks in advance
Chris

I've got a 4P3T rotary that I pulled from the Squire '51 that I'm renovating and I'd like to rewire it to offer series / parallel and single switching for a humbucker. For the "humbucker" (singular) or "humbucker s" (plural)? I ask for said clarity because that sort of thing can usually be handled amply (and cheaply) by a DPDT on-on-on toggle - not to mention the fact that it would take up a fraction of the space. You might want to reserve that rotary switch for higher level switching, like something that MickeyR or one of our other senior members would be working on. Of course, if you are quite set on it, I'm sure we could whip up something for you.

I'm going to fit it to a Strat (H/S/S) in place of the 2nd tone control so I'd have: Master Volume Master Tone (TBX) Humbucker (Split / Series / Parallel) The humbucker itself is a Lace Sensor Dually Red. I'm just trying to utilise what I've got without having to pay for more stuff and I think using the rotary would look better than a mini toggle switch. I don't like toggle switches on Strats.

After waking up too early this morning, I decided to have a go at doing a diagram myself. It's not very good is a little big but please no flames ;D Here's my diagram Position 1 - Series Position 2 - Split Position 3 - Parallel Does this look correct to everyone? The diagram is a little crude but I am only firing on 3 cylinders at the moment! ;D I've also (via a bit of creative use of Paint) put together a "virgin" version of the 4p3t from the '51's wiring diagram. I've got to go to work soon so will have a go at it when I get home later - although if anybody else wants to have a go then they're quite welcome to.

Chris well done, your diagram should work! You can simplify it however. The top pole connects to three lugs which all go to the output, so you can just ignore that pole totally, and connect the top of the red coil directly to the output, using just the other two poles as you have shown them

Thanks John - I didn't think of that at the time but looking again I see what you mean! Well I did draw it at 7am as I was getting ready for work!
I'll do the wiring of the rotary later on and post it.
