Hello
On the wiring diagram on the site the 2 tone pots don't have anything showing a ground or ground location. Am I to assume that I run a wire from the ground post to the ring terminal, and attach with all the other grounds?
Every time I put the pickguard on there is no sound. I take it off and there is a hum. Or there is always a hum on any of the switch settings and it gets louder when I touch a pup.
Any suggestions?
Thanks MArk

Just to make sure we're using the same schematic: Both tone controls connect to ground. The low end of R3 (neck tone) and the wiper of R2 (middle tone) connect to the tone capacitor and then the ring with all your grounds. No sound means either something isn't connected or something is getting grounded that shouldn't be. If your pickups are properly phased, then your should have NO hum at positions 2 and 4. Recheck your wiring compared to the schematic. See if your missing anything or something is connected wrong. Assuming you're following the schematic above, the bridge pickup is the simplest part of the circuit. Does that also have no signal? With the pickguard removed, plug in the guitar and select the bridge pickup. Lightly tap one of the bridge pickup magnets with a screwdriver. You should hear a pop in the amp. If not, then that pickup isn't connected. Trace the positive wire from the pickup to the selector switch. Now trace the common lead on the selector switch to the high end of the volume pot. Remember, this common lead is NOT the same one you connected the pickup to. Trace the wiper on the pot to the output jack. Trace the low end of the volume pot to ground. Everything connected? Now trace the negative side of the pickup to the ground. If everything is connected, then you should get some sound from the bridge pickup. See if you can get just that one working first. Good luck!
