Amazing band. Anyone ever heard of them? My personal favorite track is Oh Comely from In The Aeroplane over the Sea.

My personal favorite track is Oh Comely from In The Aeroplane over the Sea. well that's weird. didn't think that'd be up yr musical alley--seeing as how you started a thread on building speed metal chops. ;D don't know NMH well but like what i've heard. i'd also recommend: iron & wine and the microphones

I'm finding myself drawn to and appreciative of more and more types of music the further I get into this. I'll never give up my metal, I just consider it a broadening of horizons.

i always hated metal to be honest but i love post-rock bands like mogwai and godspeed you black emperor. anyhow, one day i was driving and early metallica came on the radio and after a minute i noticed i was digging it. then after another minute i noticed i was digging it cuz it sounded pretty much like mogwai. guess you gotta keep yr ears/mind open!

curiosity got the best of me so i had to download some previews from that album. i was surprised to find not metal, but something that brought back thoughts of early R.E.M. before the were doing recordings. o.k. stuff i guess, but too raw for my tastes. if you can stand something highly refined and polished, check out Peter White. My faves: Caravan of Dreams and Lullaby (from Caravan of Dreams album) and Bueno Funk (from Glow). some of his covers come off a bit trite and elevatorish, but the man can make an acoustic sing!
