Hello, this is my first post.
I've been planning on using a few diagrams from guitarnuts.com to modify my cheap strat. I was going to perform the bridge tone modification and the neck on switch.
I have a few questions that I need answered soon b/c I was planning on doing the mod today.
1. (my dad) was wondering by doing this mod could it mess up my switches. I told him no b/c he is good at soldering. 2.by connecting the wire to the bridge tone on the 5-way switch and connecting it to the middle-tone pot at where the wire from the middle-tone on the 5-way would this allow me to have tone control for the bridge and the middle pickups
(I had pictures but couldn't get them. The pictures are on guitarnuts.com)
3. it says in the neck-on tutorial that you can use it on a spst switch. I was wondering what that connection would look like.

danny, I purely hate to do this, but this is why I get the big bux..... You haven't actually stated any questions, you've only made some suppositions. Now, if we were sitting face to face across a table, I'd make some assumptions, and throw out some suggestions, and we'd discuss them. But here in the virtual world, we don't have a lot of luxury in that way, so we end up trying to be "short and sweet", and sometimes it doesn't come off so well. The one thing I can say here is that you're correct, soldering on a switch should not damage it, unless the iron is left on it for way too long. But please tell us, are you asking for more details on these mods, or are you perhaps looking for pictures of the finished results? What would you like us to do for you? One more thing...... never, ever, be in a hurry to get something done, particularly if it's on your only guitar! That way lies a lot of tears, as the errors just keep on building up. Trust me on this one, please. HTH sumgai
