I decided instead of buying a new guitar, I'll hot rod my current one. It's got a Floyd Rose Liscenced bridge on it, and if I had my way it would be the real steel deal. Are Liscenced and Original Floyds directly interchangeable?

I would think they are, and if they aren't it shouldn't take a ton of modification to make a true Floyd fit...But of course there is the fact that I don't know what I'm talking about, just using my common sense here and it tells me that that woulod most likely be the case

A lot depends on how you existing Floyd is mounted. Some newer ones have a plate with studs on it mounted to the body and some are recessed. The original Floyds mounted to two studs screwed into the body and later changed to bushings instead of wood screw type. The spacing on most posts is the same but the posts are not, go to FloydRose.com and download the template for the original and see if it is compatable to what you have, if it is get real Floyd posts and plan on spending up to two hundred for a complete setup. I've been know to buy cheap guitars on the bay for the Floyd alone. The real Floyd is worth what you have to pay though, 20 year old ones are still going strong. Jon
