im looking to replace the bridge on my strat with one that is not a tremlo. it doesnt stay in tune and in general is just not very good. any advice on what is a good replacement would be helpfull.

Is the current one a trem? If so, blocking it could make it more stable. A trem or any other other bridge might benefit from replacing the saddles. I have two sets of Graph-Tech "String Savers" on order, for my JS-050 and Squier Bullet "Strat wannabes." S'posedta give ya more sustain and everything. -- Doug C.
