"... i want a guitar that is clowds fretbord headstock body scratchplate evreything just wondering if it was possabule ..." Huh ... Say what? "...if i printed a peace of paper the same size as my guitar body with an amazing picture on it then glued it to the body ....would that work or will it mess up the sound ..." Not any more than todays hard as glass plasticized finishes. Although it is in the ear of the beholder as to whether the sound of these poly finishes are indeed, "messed up." You will get plenty of devotees to swear and assert with reverence and zealotry that anything other than thin-coat lacquer, or raw wood will ruin tone. "...glued it to .... the fretbord then coverd it in clear lacker ..." Other than this being a pain and very labor intensive, that is essentially the coated finish on Maple necks, without the pix. So it is doubtful the sound will be altered to a discernible ('hear-able') degree with that approach. But, on the plus side, it does seem like a good way to ruin a bunch of weekends. You will have some difficulty in contouring a 2 dimensional pix on a paper to a 3 dimensional contoured body, because the edges and curves will require, in women's tailoring terms, "darts." or relief cuts to form the paper around the curves and directional changes. Good luck.

You might find this interesting. I've consulted the Project Guitar website for many things, all with good results. www.projectguitar.com/tut/mat.htmThis link is for instructions on how to put a cloth cover on your guitar and cover it with finish.
