I bet this is old news for you guys, but I can't quite understand how a this nut works. I was hoping someone could explain it. In case you don't know what I'm talking about: www.buzzfeiten.com/index.htmlThanks guys /drummer (hobbyguitarist)

IMHO, it works by smoke and mirrors.
at least their explanation of the use of a "shelf nut" to compensate for end tension does.
that's already accomplished at the bridge. PERIOD.

As promised in a different thread re: Feiten:
Here is a link to the issued patents;
http:// patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=0&p=1&f=S&l=50&Query=in%2Ffeiten&d=PTXT
Here is a link to the pending applications; http:// appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.html&r=0&p=1&f=S&l=50&Query=in%2Ffeiten&d=PG01
Linky's are too long. Copy and paste in yer browser.
When you paste these in, remove any superfluous spaces.
You'll need to download one of the linked free TIF viewers (yeah TIF, all PTO docs are such) to see the actual patent view.

Anyone seriously considering the Feinten system may want to check out this site first... www.monteallums.com/Stretch_Tuning_DW.htmlThe eNut and "stretch" tuning kit only runs about $17, and can be installed/removed without damage or modification to your axe. Cool idea, but in practice, its probably just an annoyance...

I have purchased the eNut kit, but have yet to install it, since the guitar that its going on is still being built...
I should have results in a few weeks... Sorry.
