Hey, I have a Peavey Classic 30, I love this amp, great for a powerful rock crunch, as well as many other sounds. My only complaint with it is that sometimes the reverb can get quite noisy.
I usually turn the reverb up to 5, a little under halfway up. At first there is no noise from the reverb. I'll start playing and later it will start with a hum, like a machine running. I'll turn it off and back on, sometimes it goes away, other times it doesn't. Does anyone know what the problem might be? It not really that annoying, but I would like to get rid of it. Thanks.

Try changing the reverb tube(if it's tube driven reverb, I don't remeber if it is) sounds like apreamp tube going bad so that would be the easiest and cheapest fix...

C30's have spring reverb, so thats not it, and I just put in a new set of tubes a few days ago, so thats not it either.
Could it possibly be damaged? When ever I drive somewhere with it and hit a bump or pothole I can hear the springs clanging around, theres really nothing I can do about that, but could that be it?

It could probably caused by a bad grounding. Check your grounding.

What I mean is that something has to be powering the spring reverb, on alot of amp they use one of the preamp tubes to power the reverb. MAke sure the reverb cables haven't worked themselves loose, and prehaps clean out the jacks with some electronics cleaner. If that doesn't help, you've got me...

I see Trey, didn't know that. Anyway, I fiddled around with the wires for the reverb, and I think it worked! Didn't do the humming today and had the reverb on the whole time.
Man, thats been buggin me for a while, and it was nothing but a 10 sec fix... Thanks guys.
