Ok...to all you people who know about old guitar gear, can you please tell me what this is...i got two of them with my great grandpa's old Supro guitar... this is the top of whatever it is.. a side view... a bottom view.. there is a cord that comes off of the object...it ends with a 1/4" jack....i plugged it into an amp but cant really see an obvious purpose.....any opinions are welcome chris

well, what exactly is a contact microphone? and how would i use it?

Thats what it looks like to me. A contact microphone is used to amplify an acoustic instrument.It's just a small mike that gets affixed usually to the inside of the body.If you have an acoustic guitar, plug the thing into your amp and touch it to the guitar body while strumming and see if the sound gets amplified. If it doesn't,who knows what the heck it is?
