Ok. I know, I know. This should be obvious. But in search of the holy "tone" I have read about and listened to hundreds of combinations. I have never read or heard a definitive description of "crunch." Some say tube-driven (actually OVER driven) bottom end, but then others give a totally different opinon. So.... What is YOUR opinion?

Listen to Dokken's "Under Lock and Key" or "Back for the Attack". The tone that George had on those albums is crunch.

More examples:
Vito Brata's tone on "Wait" (White Lion) Reb Beach's tone on "Can't Get Enough" (Winger)
Both of those guys had crunch but Lynch was "Captain Crunch" along with being "Mr. Scary". ;D

.. Linkin' Park's Brad Delson is some other type of crunch, IMHO.
