One basic schematic for Bridge HB & Neck single, plus 2 3 variations.
4P5T Superswitch and DPDT (push-pull or mini-toggle)
All selections hum-canceling, except for Neck single, and partial canceling on Bridge HB and Neck.
First version has standard volume and tone controls, series/parallel selection for 3 middle positions. Total of 8 tonal choices.
*****************************************************
First variation uses blender in series position only, no tone pot.
****************************************************
Second variation also adds blender to Bridge HB position.
Bridge becomes single in parallel position of s/p switch, when Bridge HB is selected. (South coils shunted)
****************************************************
EDIT
One more variation added, to get the full HB, OoP with the Neck. The only way to get the Neck single is in one of the first 4 selections, with the S/P switch in series, and the blender turned all the way to Neck.
****************************************************
JohnH sent this to me via a PM. Thinking it might be poor form for him to post it in this thread. Not so, John. I think it either belongs here, or in it's own thread. I'll leave it in my post for now, and invite you to put it in the second post, possibly with a blender option, or start a similar thread.
John's version uses the second switch to bypass one coil of the HB in positions 2~4.
5-way selects Neck Neck * Bridge Neck + Bridge Neck * Bridge OoP Bridge
Neck + Bridge OoP is not available, but it's a weak tone, so it won't really be missed.
...(Edited by JohnH 20/01/2010 to restore Unks digrams - I also left the links to his photobucket account, which is inactive)

A nice development of designs. Blender is good and I suggest 250k linear with mid-track cut zone. Any higher value pot and the blending is only at the ends of the travel, but without the track cut, a 250k pot loads the pups too much. Your config. is an alternative to using the 5-way switch to do overall pup combos eg N,NxB, N+B, Nx(-B_B, with the toggle/push pull to get the Hb coil cut. With the right pups, an Hb/Sc system can get all the tones that I actually use. But theres one that I like that yours cant do, which is Bridge Hb in series with Neck OoP..... cheers John EDIT 13/08/07 At Unk's invitation, here is my version, with Blender and pots added: Unks use of a cap on the wiper of the blender offers some extra tones, particularly if it is rolled off in favour of the bridge, leaving some extra bass weight coming through from the neck. Could be added to my version too.

Is this named for the domestic steward of foreign extraction on the Ponderosa (Bonanza)? huh, Hoss?
(probably only SumGai is old enough to remember this, and JH is too culturaly deprived to be familiar with American TV westerns.... he did not know who Paladin was).

[/i][/quote] Sorry "Little Joe", you are apparently confusing her with her uncle Hop Sing. Hum Sing is a rather talented girl I met at a *cough* massage parlor. btw, I've updated my original post to include a similar design by JohnH.
